How to Chat on WhatsApp without saving the number

Although WhatsApp has been around for over a decade, the messaging software currently only allows us to communicate with our contacts. If you wish to contact someone new, you must first add them to your phone's contact list, then wait for WhatsApp to sync so that the new name appears inside the app, and then start a discussion with them. This generally takes a few minutes and can last for hours if the contact does not sync rapidly. There are a few techniques you may use to get around this ridiculous restriction and start chatting with a new contact right away. One of them is given by WhatsApp, but for some reason, it is not available within the app. If you're not familiar with them, I'll go through three of the simplest.

3 methods for chatting on WhatsApp without storing the phone number
1 WhatsApp's wa.me links
WhatsApp does offer an official mechanism to reach an unsaved number, but it does not do so within the app. You may start a conversation with any number by opening Chrome, Firefox, or the Samsung browser and navigating to the web URL https://wa.me/phonenumber, as detailed in this FAQ. Replace the last portion with the complete number, including the country and region code, but without any +, -, (), or 00. To chat with the number 234-567-8900 in the United States, for example, go to the URL: https://wa.me/12345678900. If you type it into your browser, you'll see the web page below with a large green Message symbol. Tapping on it initiates a WhatsApp discussion with that phone number.

2 Text selection and App Actions
The third technique is the least well-known, yet it is the simplest, quickest, and most easily incorporated. You may simply choose the appropriate text and check the suggested actions whenever you have a phone number in any app. The standard ones are usually Call, Cut, Copy, and Paste, but if you press the overflow button (three dots), you may see other options, such as sending a WhatsApp message. Simply click on it, and the conversation will begin.

To test it, just put +phone number (with the + and country code at the start) into the Google search widget on your home screen, press to pick it, and then hit the three-dot button. If you have a suitable device, an option to send a WhatsApp message should appear. This works in our tests on both Android 9 Pie and 10, but only on stock devices (Pixels and Android One). The other behaviors were seen on Huawei, Samsung, and OnePlus phones, but not on WhatsApp. Hopefully, the integration will be extended to non-stock Android devices in the future.

3 Use an app to speed things up
If the preceding approach appears to be too complicated or sluggish for you, you may utilize an app to speed things up. Several Android applications make use of these wa.me connections, but in a non-user-facing fashion, so you don't have to input a URL or go through a web browser first. Simply input the phone number, press a button, and you'll be transported to a newly established WhatsApp chat. Among these programs, Click to Chat is the smallest (113 KB), has no advertisements, and requires no permissions at all. Easy Message is another fantastic alternative that is ad-free and requires few permissions.
