Do you lack the time to read your favorite books? Do you ever question if it's worthwhile to listen to audiobooks on Audible?
I questioned the credibility of audiobooks a few months ago. Why?
Listening to an audiobook on a gadget, on the other hand, seemed like cheating on a genuine book.
I was also skeptical about being able to get into anything narrated by an actor. I regarded audiobooks as a costly diversion from the printed word. I couldn’t have been more wrong!
I recently signed up for a 30-day Audible trial and chose my first free audiobook to give this service a try.
I haven't looked back since.
Audible is a subsidiary of Amazon that creates and sells tens of thousands of popular audiobooks and Audible Original products.
If you have an Amazon account I’ll show you how you can sign up for Audible with your Amazon account in the UK
How to sign up for Audible with your Amazon account / link your Amazon account to Audible
The easier way to do this is to open an Amazon account first and then sign up to Audible with your Amazon account which they wouldn’t always ask for. Alternatively, If you already have an Audible account but don't see your titles in your Kindle Fire's Audiobooks library, link your Audible account to your Amazon account.
- Sign in to www.audible.co.uk with your Audible account and password. You'll be instructed to combine your Audible and Amazon accounts.
- Select the Link Now option.
- When prompted, enter your Audible password.
- When prompted, enter your Amazon email address and password.
- Choose a credit or debit card to serve as the Default Card for Audible purchases and membership costs, or input a new credit or debit card.
Following the linking of your Amazon and Audible accounts:
- Your Audible audiobooks are now available on your Kindle Fire, and you can take advantage of Audible member savings.
- Your Audible audiobooks may be managed in three places: your Kindle Fire Audiobooks library, Manage Your Content and Devices, or www.audible.co.uk.
- When you use Audible, sign in using your Amazon email address and password. Your old Audible username is no longer valid.
Pricing for Audible
You could sign up for a 30-day free trial of Audible and receive one free audiobook. To begin the free trial, you must provide your credit card information.
After your 30-day trial period expires, it costs $14.95 per month, but you can cancel at any time.
For your monthly membership price, you receive one credit each month that you can decide to use to purchase and retain any audiobook. This is the monthly gold plan.
If you choose the gold annual plan, you will pay $149.50 per year and receive 12 credits each year.
A platinum monthly membership price of $22.95 per month gives you 2 credits each month, while a platinum yearly subscription fee of $229.50 gets you 24 credits.
However, if you have Amazon Prime, you may use Audible at no extra cost. When utilizing your Amazon Prime membership to access your Audible account, you are limited to a rotating assortment of 50+ books.
Each month, you may also purchase extra Audible credits.
How to Get a Discount on Audible
If you are an Audible member and use your credits each month, you can definitely save money on audiobooks.
Individual audiobooks may be purchased for between $10 and $25. For example, at the time of writing, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson is an Audible best-seller and costs $23.95.
A credit, on the other hand, costs around $14.95.
This means that you can save $9
Similarly, if you want to listen to more than one audiobook, a monthly membership to this audiobook service will save you money.
Audible also provides member-only discounts that can save you up to 60% off the cost of an audiobook.
In the past, I purchased a single audiobook from the Apple iTunes store.
This worked great at the time, but if you listen to at least one audiobook each month, a subscription is less expensive. For example, at the time of writing, the same book by Mark Manson audiobook costs $22.95 on iTunes.
Finally, I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoy writing it, and you also learned something interesting too.
